So I have to admit, we were originally planning and had every intention of going to Cooper’s Hawk in Ashburn tonight. However it was packed and we didn’t feel like fighting for a table in the bar area or waiting an hour and a half for a table in the dining area. So we walked over to Baker’s Crust to give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised! The food was very foodie and excellent! It also had a nice, pleasant atmosphere.
Shown above are our appetizers, Tuna and Avocado Poke, and Avocado toast. Poke seems to be the rage these days, as we’ve seen it popping up everywhere. Baker’s Crust rendition of Poke was excellent. For an appetizer, the quantity was plentiful. My son mostly ate the Avocado Toast, but from what I tasted, it was very good.
They touted their burgers were 100% grass fed, free range beef from New Zealand, and I was in the mood for a burger, so I had to try one. The burger was fantastics with a rich beef taste. Sometimes a burger is a bit thin on taste, but theirs was rich in flavor. Staying away from gluten, I had a side salad instead of their homemade chips and bun. The salad was plentiful with a tasty sweet and sour dressing.
Joanna had street tacos which were also excellent. We will definitely come here again and not as second fiddle to Cooper’s Hawk, as this place stands firmly on its own two feet!
